Low grade infections
Sensitive throat, ears, bladder, how annoying! You may wonder if that is a real infection needing attention and medication or just irritation and sensitivity to something and it is not worth giving any attention. If you think back, you may have had some courses of antibiotics for an infection and that helped the initial situation. But you may still feel that part to be sensitive, easily giving you to aches and pains. The operative word is pain or discomfort, which are not present if the organ is healthy.
If at all in doubt, do visit your doctor to eliminate anything more serious. Or you may recognise it as something that is not worth the trouble and you have some go to treatments with it in place already.
Your course of antibiotics has dealt with the most dangerous part of the infection and it got you back on your feet: you can get about easily and you are, once again a productive member of the society.
But it may have left a low-level infection behind, not something that might be classified as sickness but an annoying symptom that pops up often. Also often recurring infections and courses of antibiotics are a sign that the infection didn’t leave your body totally in the first place.
Low level infections are common and a real health issue. Although they are not immediately life threatening, they eat away your immune capacity and they do not produce anything good. Some of them have even been connected to life threatening illnesses like tooth infection to heart disease.
Mouth area: tooth and gum aches, sores and abscesses are an indication that not all is well in your mouth. Mouth is also a good indicator of the gut, so if you often have trouble with your mouth area, you may also have a low-grade infection somewhere in your gut.
Sinus if you have stubbornly runny nose and headaches often, low grade sinusitis might be to blame. Also, if you need to use nose sprays often, it might be a sign that there is still some infection.
Persistent coughs that come up every now and then with some mucus as well as painful chest might be useful to address.
Bladder area: If you find it painful to pee and your bladder gets easily irritated, your bladder or kidneys may harbour an infection. Frequent nightly visits to the toilet might be another sign as is pain in the middle of your back.
Pain in the ear, trouble sleeping, hearing loss, pressure may call for some home remedies.
Low level throat infection may cause furry tong or just easily aching throat and swollen glands.
The best thing to tackle any low-grade infection is sugar free diet, which helps your health in many, many other ways too. Second best action would be to resort to some grandmama home remedies and also, there are several herbal and homeopathic preparations easily available from pharmacies or natural foods shops. With homeopathic preparations I would recommend the lowest possible potency, used long term. Dr Vogel’s remedies as well as www.VSM.nl have helped me in many occasions and those are available in most pharmacies.
There will be another blog about homeopathic remedies for low grade infection.
